⛓️Influenceable Ecosystem

Hextopus provides a feature that enables campaign creators to design campaigns that align with their desired goals and distribute rewards to their participants accordingly. Once the rewards scheme is set, participants are eligible to earn a fixed amount of rewards after they complete the given action of the campaign.

This reward structure allows campaign creators to accelerate community engagement with their projects. Because users receive participation rewards for carrying out targeted actions set by campaign creators and additional referral rewards for successful sharing of content to other users, Hextopus has a continuous incentive structure to boost campaign progress.

How It Works

Consecutive Referral Tree

Hextopus is a protocol that allows users to earn rewards through both ‘participation’ and ‘shares’. Hextopus has built a “consecutive reward structure”, whereby users can share a unique referral link that is generated once they participate in a chosen campaign.

Once generated, these links can be shared among their community and if their referrals also participate in the campaign, the user is rewarded again for the successful referral. This consecutive referral reward structure incentivizes users to become actively involved in participating and promoting a campaign, and allows participants to potentially see much greater rewards than compared to a traditional referral program. This is vital to the success of decentralized application and/or protocol activation.

Campaign participants can also get rewards through any participation by other users linked to the consecutive referral tree. Participants are eligible for ‘1st level referral rewards (direct referral rewards)’ arising from direct participation for each of their referral entries, and ‘2nd level referral rewards (indirect referral rewards)’ for their referral entries’ successful referrals.

Rewards for successful campaign referrals are paid out in the form of DApp's reward token and esHXTO according to the campaign's reward schema allocated by the campaign creator. Thus active participation in Hextopus as well as general DApp activity will correspondingly lead to a greater usage of HXTO. The campaign reward distribution schema depends on the total amount of DApp's reward token, total amount of HXTO, and minimum number of participants set by the campaign creator.

For example, a campaign with a participation reward scheme 100 token, a referral reward scheme esHXTO [50, 30] will result in the reward structure described below.

Analyzing Participant A's total rewards,

  • Participant A receives 100 reward tokens for his/her direct participation.

  • Through Participant A's link, he/she has also shared the campaign to Participants B, C, and D, who all have participated in the campaign. Then Participant A is eligible for an additional 50 esHXTO arising from direct participation for each of his referees.

  • If Participants E, F, G participate indirectly through either Participant B, C, or D's referral link, then Participant A will be eligible for another 30 esHXTO for each.

  • Thus the total rewards received by Participant A is 100 reward tokens and 240 esHXTO.

  • Note that this consecutive scheme is currently restricted to only three layers, so any participation by users further down in the tree will not be considered when calculating Participant A's rewards. It's important to clarify that these three layers include the participant themselves.

Calculating from Participant B's viewpoint,

  • 100 reward tokens for his/her direct participation.

  • Through Participant A's link, he/she has also shared the campaign to Participants E and F, who all have participated in the campaign. Then Participant B is eligible for an additional 50 esHXTO arising from direct participation for each of his referees.

  • If Participant H participates through either Participant F's referral link, then Participant B will be eligible for another 30 esHXTO.

  • Thus the total rewards received by Participant B is 100 reward tokens and 130 esHXTO.

Referral Reward Cap

Hextopus Protocol has Referral Reward Caps for all campaigns that act as a soft limit that can be increased to receive more referral rewards. The base referral cap is (1st level reward)*2. In order to receive more referral rewards, the limit must be increased. Commonly the referral reward caps are based on the reward scheme set by campaign creators. Users can use their HXTO and esHXTO to increase the limit. The limit increases by 50% of the amount of esHXTO held by the user. In addition, users can increase the limit by staking their HXTO. The limit increase rate varies depending on the lock up period of the staking selected by the user and is as follows.

Staking Lock-up PeriodLimit Increase Rate

7 Days

10%

30 Days

50%

90 Days

160%

This figure is temporary and will change in the future.

ex) If the campaign's direct referral reward is set to 50 esHXTO, the base referral reward cap is 50*2 = 100. In this state, if the user has 70 esHXTO in his/her wallet and is staking 30 HXTO for 90 days lock-up period, the referral reward cap increases respectively by 50% (35 esHXTO) and by 160% (48 esHXTO), increasing the total 83 esHXTO. Therefore, the user will have a referral reward cap of 183 exHXTO.
